Arts Activities
Performing and visual arts come alive to enrich the UHD experience for
students, the community, and UH-Downtown faculty and staff.
- The O'Kane
Theatre is an intimate venue, seating
no more than 100 people. The stage is located within four feet
of the audience, making attention to detail an important characteristic
in every production. This close proximity also gives the audience
member a feeling of being directly involved in the action on stage.
- The O'Kane
Gallery presents exhibitions throughout the year with
artwork by professional and emerging artists. In addition, UHD art students
and high schoolers are given an opportunity to see their work exhibited,
perhaps for the first time, through exhibitions aimed at nurturing young
artists.
In addition, the Wilhelmina Cullen Robertson
Auditorium hosts a variety of performing artists in special
presentations and concerts.
