Catalog Librarian
The University of Houston-Downtown is seeking an excellent candidate
for the position of Catalog Librarian.
Duties include:

Perform original and complex copy cataloging for all types of
library materials including print/electronic books, serials and
audiovisual in all subject areas;

Develop and implement cataloging policies of the library;

Participate in database maintenance and quality control for
bibliographic, item and holdings records;

Coordinate and supervise four Library Assistants and two student
employees in the the work of copy cataloging and processing; and
-
All other duties as assigned

Advanced/Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited
institution;

Minimum two years of cataloging books, serials and electronic
resources;

Minimum two years of management experience;

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
-
Previous experience in the following is highly desirable:
- knowledge of MARC21, AACR2, LCRI, LCSH, LC;
- classification and CONSER standards;
- OCLC Connexion and a major integrated library system.
