How to Borrow Library Materials

Please present your UHD Student Gator Card or UHD Faculty, Staff, or Alumni ID Card to borrow library materials. These cards are also accepted by other libraries at University of Houston System campuses. Visitors to UHD may borrow some library materials by presenting a valid ID from a University of Houston System campus, a TexShare Card, a HARLiC Card, or a UHD Affiliate Borrowers Card. Using Other Libraries

Consider these options if you need books that are not available at UHD:

Interlibrary Loan

Allows UHD students, faculty and staff to request delivery of articles and books not available at UHD.

TexShare Card

Allows UHD students, faculty and staff to borrow at hundreds of participating Texas libraries.
Lending rules are set by each library. Call ahead to be sure you can get the items you need.
Get your TexShare Card at the UHD Library Circulation Desk, UHS Cinco Ranch, or the University Center.

Rice University Borrowing Form

Allows UHD students to borrow up to 2 books at the Rice University Fondren Library.
Rice University libraries do not participate in the TexShare card program.
Request an application form at UHD Library Information Desk.
Applications must be completed with a librarian. A UHD identification card is required.

HARLiC Card

Allows UHD faculty to borrow at participating Houston-area research libraries.
Request an application form at UHD Library Information Desk.
