Web of Science

Database Description

Web of Science is an index of high impact research journals in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. It covers approximately 8,700 journals in almost every field of study. In addition to its wide breadth of coverage, Web of Science is known for its unique search options, such as the Cited Reference Search, which can be used to find sources that cite a particular author or work. The General Search offers traditional search options such as topic, author, and source, plus a unique option to search by address (author's affiliation). This last option can be used to find all publications written by faculty at a particular university. Look for the "Links" option in your search results to see if a particular journal is available in the library's print or electronic collections.
