Criminal Justice Periodicals Index covers over 100 scholarly journals, trade magazines, and law review journals in criminal justice. Recent full-text articles are available from almost half of these publications. The CJPI is less comprehensive than other databases, but its narrow focus allows it to cover some specialized publications that are not covered in general sources like Academic Search Complete. It also offers some helpful searching features, such as the Topic Guide and the ProQuest Smart Search results, which suggest ways to focus or narrow the scope of a search.
