Mission Statement
The Health Professions
Organization (HPO) is a pre-health students’ organization that provides
information on health-oriented careers and graduate studies through
distinguished guest speakers and field trips to professional institutions.
It also prepares the students for the testing and interviewing processes
required before admissions to these institutions. The organization is
open to students interested in pursuing a career in direct and indirect
patient care, including biomedical research.
Membership to the organization
is open to any enrolled UHD student interested in pursuing a career
in direct or indirect patient care (Human or Veterinary), including
biomedical research, and pays the five-dollar membership dues each semester.
Membership into HPO
shall not be denied because of race, color, age, national origin, sexual
orientation, or handicap. Please contact Linu Mathew to be added to
