Academic Advising - Transient Student

A transient student is an individual who is enrolling at the UH-Downtown for one semester, but plans to graduate from another college or university.

  1. Complete and submit an application for admission with Office of Admissions.

  2. Bring official or unofficial transcripts to the advising session from all previously attended colleges regardless of whether college credit was earned.

  3. Demonstrate the requirements are met for a TSI exemption as a non-degree-seeking student.

Student must show recent enrollment at an out-of-state or private college or university, and a plan to graduate from an out of state or private college or university.

There are a number of helpful tools and programs available to transient students at the UH-Downtown. Be sure to take advantage of them for your college success.

  • The UH-Downtown College Catalog outlines student services, policies and procedures, degree programs, course descriptions, etc.

  • The UH-Downtown Student Handbook outlines students services and policy statements concerning student rights and responsibilities. As a UH-D student, you are responsible for understanding your advising responsibilities and your advisors' responsibilities. The relationship between you and your advisor is a shared responsibility.
