UHD students/alumni are invited to participate in a comprehensive Graduate Records Examination (GRE) preparation workshop series, an admissions requirement for graduate school.

Higher scores on the GRE increase the chances for admission and scholarships/fellowships in graduate programs – similar to SAT scores for undergraduate programs.

The UHD Scholars Academy began offering the workshops in Fall 2003, in which twenty students took advantage of this inaugural opportunity. The workshops are offered each full semester at UHD on Friday's. Sponsors of these workshops include the National Science Foundation, U.S. Army Research Office, and the U.S. Department of Education.

In addition to GRE content, students learn necessary strategies that lead to success in taking the GRE through practice. Several UHD faculty members participate in this effort: Drs. Sara Farris; Erin Hodgess; Michelle Moosally; and Lisa Morano.

To register for the GRE Preparation Course and to receive college credit, please do so via UHD E-service.
