Research Interests:  Agricultural pathogenesis of grapevines via Xylella fastidiosa that causes Pierce's disease, including characterization of the genetic diversity of the bacterial strains in Texas for comparison to strains in California; and tolerance mechanisms of Texas native vines and native-European hybrids.
