Science Engineering Fair of Houston

Application deadline to the Scientific
Review Committee (SRC) for projects which involve either Vertebrate Animals,
Environmental Sampling, Human Subjects (including surveys of human subjects),
Recombinant DNA, Tissues, Microorganisms, and Potentially Dangerous Chemicals or
Equipment. Applications must be
received (not postmarked) by the SRC on this date.
Final revised copies of all SRC
approval forms
must be received by an appropriate member of the SRC by this date.
Poster Design Contest entry deadline.
Entries must be received at the Fair Office by this date.
Science Writing contest entry
deadline. Entries must be
received at the Fair Office by this date.
Project entry deadline.
Project entry forms and fees must be received at the Fair Office by this date.
Faxed copies are not acceptable. NOTE: A copy (not the original) of each approval form
required for a particular project must be stapled to the entry form for that
project.

p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
Student Registration/Move-In at
the Reliant Arena. Student must have copies of his/her approved Adult Sponsor/Safety
Assessment Form (1) Research Plan (1A), Approval Form (1B) and any other
required project certification form for their project.
Student must set up their own exhibit and be present until both the
Rules/Safety and Scientific Review Committees approve the exhibit.

Judging: Phase I for all
Divisions. Only exhibitors, judges,
and fair officials are allowed in the exhibit area during judging periods.

Open Session for
Teachers/Project Supervisors/Interested Parents with SEFH officials in Teachers
Lounge.

p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Judging: Phase II and Special
Awards for all Divisions.

p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Judging: Phase III and Special
Award-for all Divisions.

p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Judging: Phase III and Special
Awards-Senior/Ninth Grade Divisions.

Astroarena closes for the evening.

Exhibit Preparation

Fair and Poster Exhibits open
to public.
Students are encouraged to present their projects to the public.

Awards Ceremony in Reliant
Arena. Public is invited.

Dismantling and Removal of
Projects allowed only after close of Awards Ceremony.
All exhibits must be removed at this time. The fair is not responsible for lost or stolen projects.
