Houston PREP held its first annual Cultural Day on July 26, 2000. This included a talent show prepared by Houston PREP's performing arts instructors.  The talent show had a variety of performances from PREP students, including singing and dancing to “Maria, Maria” and “You Sang to Me” which were accompanied by an arranged PREP orchestra.
