Organization Description
Univision Television Group is the national leader in Spanish Language television. KXLN-TV in Houston is a Univision station. KXLN-TV takes great pride in its commitment and philosophy of providing the Hispanic community with programming that not only satisfies their thirst for quality entertainment, but also their need for up-to-date information, news, and educational programs.

Description of Internship
The Internship Program was created at KXLN to provide an opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism and television production. The Internship Program is a supervised opportunity for the student to work alongside professionals in the news and production industry. Internships are also offered in the Public Affairs/Promotions Departments.

This is a paid internship.

Criteria for Interns
Must be an enrolled student in good standing with a GPA of 2.5 or better.

Student must have taken all basic/core courses in their field prior to the internship.

Students MUST apply in a timely manner. Application deadlines are:

• December 8, 2006 for Spring 2007

• April 27, 2007 for Summer 2007

• August 3, 2007 for Fall 2007

Applications MUST include the following:

• Official internship application completed in full (available from contact person)

• Letter from UHD, including the following:

• Approval of your participation in the program

• Number of credit hours you will receive for your participation

• Number of clock hours required

• Cover letter from students requesting admission to the program, including dates available

• Resume

• School transcripts
