Organization Description
We provide English as a Second Language classes from level 0 to level 7 for adults; computer based GED prepratory course and Family Literacy. We have classes Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. We teach financial, health, and computer literacy using Texas Standardized Curriculum Frameworks and PEACE. Our motto is Teaching Minds, Touching Hearts and Reaching Souls with Love.

Description of Internship
Work to assist the early education teacher with a group of children. Helping to teach school rules and developmental milestones with rhymes, songs, games and learning. The children are toddlers and need to learn independence and age appropriate social, cognitive and physical skills.

Work with GED students on reading comprehension and the four content areas for the test.
Work to aide the ESL teachers with individual tutoring of students in pronouncing, writing and reading English.
Assist with additional programs as needed in the area of recruitment and retention.

Criteria for Interns
Strong commitment to help and develop skills in others with patience. Must be reliable and able to work independently in a team environment. Bi-lingual is helpful but not required. Open to all social science majors.
