Organization Description

Counseling, substance abuse treatment, case management, outreach and health education on a variety of issues - HIV, chemical dependency, crime survivor issues.


Description of Internship

We offer several areas for internships:

  1. Education - train to present education on issues described above, research new curriculum and develop newsletter articles.
  2. Volunteer management - assist in recruiting, training, scheduling and supporting volunteers. Developing resources for hotline.
  3. Outreach - go out in to the field with an outreach worker to identify contact at risk for HIV from substance use. assist in HIV and TB testing and counseling.
  4. Case Management - assist case managers with direct services with clients, case file construction and maintenance, developing new resources for clients.

    Hours are flexible for our education, volunteer management and outreach internships.
    For case management it would be between 8 and 6 Monday - Friday.

Criteria for Interns
Minimum age 18; any social science major is acceptable. Must be accepting/affirming of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals.
