Organization Description

The mission of the 247th District STAR Family Intervention Court is to effectively provide for the safety and welfare of children by optimizing opportunities for the recovery and healing of substance abusing parents via intervention, education, and treatment using a collaborative, multi-disciplinary, non-adversarial, and judicially supervised approach to the entire family which balances understanding with accountability.


Description of Internship

The 247th District STAR Family Intervention Court is a drug recovery program for clients with children. The intern would be responsible for one of the educational components of the program

Criteria for Interns

Senior year Social Science majors. Intern must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills, demonstrate good communication skills, ability to research, develop and present the Matrix Model using individual instructional modules. A UA is required.
