Organization Description
The Arbor School, founded in 1988, provides intensive educational and behavioral programming for special needs children, from birth through age sixteen. Children at The Arbor present a wide range of developmental disabilities including Down syndrome, autistic-spectrum disorders, multiple handicaps, genetic, and neurological conditions.

Description of Internship

Interns will work directly with Arbor students in carrying out educational and behavioral programs under the supervision of Arbor staff. They will also participate in meetings to plan and develop individual programs. Interns will have exposure to applied behavior analysis, precision teaching, use of developmental curricula, and data-collection.

Criteria for Interns

Interns must be 18 years of age. Internships are open to all majors related to education and/or the social/behavioral sciences. Must clear a criminal background check and electronic finger-printing in accordance with state law. Finger-printing is at the intern’s expense.
