Organization Description

To provide a high quality, comprehensive palliative program dedicated to promoting comfort and quality of life for clients and families facing a terminal illness. In recognition that facing a life limiting disease is much more than a physical experience, A-MED Community Hospice utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach to provide services for their clients and families. As human beings, we experience emotional and spiritual losses as well as physical during the dying process. Through meeting the numerous needs of the clients and families, we strive to enable the client to live life to the fullest extent possible and the family to adjust to life after their loss.


Description of Internship

Training Goals:

  • Having an understanding about the hospice philosophy, and specifically and understand of their role with hospice care.
  • Articulate personal feeling about death and dying.
  • Increase knowledge of issue concerning the dying patients and his/her family Including physical, spiritual, psychosocial and medical needs.

  • Criteria for Interns

    1. Attended an orientation; it can be done with an appointment at the Student’s convenience.
    2. Driver License
    3. Liability Car Insurance
    4. A Criminal background check
