Trask Art Scholarship

The Arts and Humanities Department at the University of Houston-Downtown offers art scholarships of up to $500 per semester to be applied toward tuition and fees.
The intent of the donor is to encourage promising art or art history students.

•  First priority for receiving the scholarship is any first time, transfer, or readmitted student to the UHD campus, to be awarded for his/her first year at UHD.
The scholarship may go to other worthy students if no candidates meet this requirement.

•  The student must enroll for a minimum of 12 hours each semester (this requirement may be waived when justified), including at least one studio or art history
course each semester.

•  The student must submit a portfolio of work and the accompanying application form for review by the scholarship committee by April 30 th for Fall semester
awards or November 30 th for Spring semester awards.

•  The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better at UHD (this requirement may be waived when justified).

 

The portfolio and statement are due in the Department of Arts and Humanities in April for Fall semester awards and November for Spring semester awards.
Applicants will be informed of a final decision in May for Fall semester awards and January for Spring semester awards. Portfolios may be picked up in the
Department of Arts and Humanities in June for Fall applicants and February for Spring applicants.
