Welcome to the web site for the Management, Marketing, and Business Administration (MMBA) Department. Our department has a regional focus with emphasis on responding to the needs of the business community in the greater Houston area. The faculty provides quality instruction with work experience and terminal degrees in their teaching field. The faculty maintains currency in their areas of specialization through close affiliation with the business community, participation in local & national professional organizations, attendance at and presentation of professional development programs, supervision of student projects benefiting local businesses, consulting, in areas related to faculty areas of expertise and teaching, and research of an applied and/or theoretical nature.
The department offers majors and minors in the following areas: Administrative Management, General Business, Management, Marketing, and Purchasing and Supply Management. Minors are offered in Retail Management, Small Business Management, Metro-Entrepreneurship, and Energy Management and Professional Land Management. This enables a student to strengthen his or her education by selection of a minor tailored to his or her career goals. In addition to the traditional teaching methods, the department is the leader in distance learning. The department offers general business, marketing and management undergraduate business degree programs at the UH-Sugarland campus, and general business programs at Cinco Ranch and University Center at Montgomery College. Our faculty are involved in the development and presentation of courses by interactive television (ITV), video tape and online via Internet

Additionally, the College of Business offers
a variety of minors to complement major programs. These minors can be
selected by both students pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration
degree and those pursuing other degrees offered by the university. Students
planning to pursue a minor in the College of Business who are not seeking
a Bachelor of Business degree are reminded that in compliance with the
accrediting principles of the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools
of Business International, the courses applicable to the minor, is limited
to 25 percent of the credit hours applied toward graduation.

Students should note that in some instances courses listed as requirements or options for the minor may have prerequisites which are not listed as part of the program. Prerequisites will not be waived.
