A Message from the President

Welcome to UHD Strategic Planning.

This site is intended to keep you up to date on what is going on with strategic planning at UHD.

The strategic planning process will unfold in three stages. You'll recall that last year we engaged in the actual planning phase of the project. For nine months a team of dedicated UHD faculty, staff, students, and alumni as well as external representatives worked and deliberated over key issues that became a roadmap for UHD's future. You will find that document here.

This year, the focus will be on implementation. In order to accomplish this we've restructured the University Planning Council into a Strategic Planning Oversight Committee and a Resource Allocation Council. This model, used successfully at other universities, recognizes that planning is often more effective when it is divorced from the allocation of resources.

The final phase of the process will be the ongoing one of modifying and updating the plan. The planning document is not the final step but the first. It should be revisited and revised often to help keep UHD on its forward-moving track.

I am proud of this plan and the effort it represents. It portrays the strong commitment and dedication that faculty, staff, and students bring to this institution. I trust that those same characteristics will help carry UHD into the future.
