| 1. PURPOSE This PS states the policy and procedures related to smoking on campus. |

2. POLICY/PROCEDURES |

| 2.1 Smoking is not permitted within any building which is the property of the University of Houston-Downtown. It is allowed outside the building in designated smoking areas. It is not allowed within ten feet of any doorway or building entrance. | |
| 2.2 This policy applies to all employees, students, independent contractors, and visitors. | |
| 2.3 Compliance with this policy will be obtained through education and respect for the rights of others. Violations will be referred to the appropriate administrative unit. | |
